Logo The Division 2 is heading back to where it all began in The Division 2 Warlords of New York, a narrative-driven expansion that brings the action from Washington, DC to the summery streets of Lower Manhattan. Coming March 3, Warlords of New York features a new open-world map for Agents to explore, along with a new story that puts them back on the trail of rogue Division Agent Aaron Keener. Videos Tom Clancys The Division 2: Warlords of New York: World Premiere Cinematic Trailer Tom Clancys The Division 2: Warlords of New York: Official Gameplay Walkthrough Tom Clancys The Division 2: Warlords of New York: Story & Character Trailer Tom Clancys The Division 2: Warlords of New York: Gameplay Overview Trailer The Division 2: New Expansion Gameplay Preview Introduction The Division always had the goal to restore order, continue the government and keep society together. But this is also a brutal and thankless task that faced the agents against brutal and merciless adversaries. But the most dangerous enemies of them all have always been the Division Agent that went rouge and took all their knowledge and technology and turned against the society they once swore to protect. Situation. Attack It is now eight months after the outbreak of Green Poison that brought down society and killed millions. The agents of Washington D. C. are called back to New York City, where it all started. A biological attack has hit Lower Manhattan and it is your job to hunt down the man responsible. Aaron Keener, callsign “Vanguard”, he is an Agent from the First Wave. The First Wave was activated shortly after the initial outbreak and had the responsibility to restore order, but they were eventually abandoned and left to die in the Dark Zone. That is the moment where Keener lost faith and went rogue. He disappeared and gathered all the tools to engineer his own biological weapons. Now eight months later, Keener has returned to New York and he has attacked The Division Headquarters and killed dozens of top Division Agents and countless innocent civilians. And it seems, he is just getting started. Keep in mind, Keener knows the city inside and out and he is as lethal and as cunning as they come. Your Enemy. Aaron Keener After disappearing in the first game, Keener has resurfaced, surrounded himself with other rogue Agents, and used them to unite New Yorks violent factions under his own banner. Worse, hes working to create a new bioweapon even more potent than the Green Poison that brought society crashing down. Keener is not only looking for revenge, but he also seeks chaos, because he believes this is the only way humanity can thrive. And he is not alone. He recruited four other Rogue Agents that not only have the skill but also the determination to achieve that goal. These agents have worked their way up within factions ruling over Lower Manhattan. If we want to get to Keener, we need to go through them first. The Rogue Agents Vivian Conley. Image Vivian Conley is a former counter-terrorism intelligent agent and chemical engineer. Conleys last known location was the Two Bridges sector of Lower Manhattan. A hurricane-ravaged New York City a few months ago, so its a far cry from the thriving urban sector it once was. Javier Kajika. Image He is a master of stealth and infiltration. He was a black-ops hitman for the U. S. government. Since the collapse, his loyalty goes to whoever will feed his need for blood. Our latest intel locates Kajika somewhere in the Battery Park area. This is the part of the city thats taken over by swamp. The terrain is rough and scattered with giant sinkholes that used to be subway tunnels. Odds are, he knows that you are coming for him and he plans to use the dicey terrain to get the drop on you. The Cleaners. Image Both Conley and Kajika work with the Cleaners. A former New York City sanitation unit that believes only fire can stop the virus. Conley was recruited by the cleaners when she went rogue and thanks to her technical expertise, theyre deadlier than ever. The Cleaners are ruthless and their “Cleansing Fire” takes no prisoners. James Dragov. Image Dragov is a former police officer and a heavy weapons and defense specialist. His relentless fight for justice made him a legend on the force. But now, his allegiance has changed. Dragov took hold of the Financial District and has been using it as the center of his Black-Market operation. The intel suggests, he is still there. But be careful, major flooding has transformed the entire district into a mudslide. Theo Parnell. Image Parnell is a drone engineer and skilled hacker. Hes managed to stay off the grid, so all we can say for sure is, hes a true mater of decoys and deception. Keeners arranged for the Rikers to protect him at an unknown location in the Civic Center area. Rikers. Image Dragov and Parnell have both been linked to the Rikers. Ex-Cons from Riker-Island prison. Regardless of who their enemies were in the past, theyve agreed to band together. Their motto: “Power by Numbers” and just like Keener, they thrive in chaos. Last Words Before you arrive at the Base of Operations with Agent Alani Kelso, you should be warned: A lot has changed in New York. The days when Division Agents were seen as knights in shining armor are long gone. The people that you will meet are survivors. Ever since Keener and his rouge agents took over Lower Manhattan theres been a distrust of Division agents amongst civilians. Your Contacts Agent Faye Lau has been the acting commander of The Division in New York City and is leading the hunt for Keener. Her methods are “unconventional”. But were in a race against the clock and Lau knows what it takes to get results quickly. Image Paul Rhodes Youll also find Paul Rhodes, now the leader of the civilian settlement. Because hes so tapped into the city he may be able to help you track Keener and his rogue agents. Image Campaign. The Map SHD Agents are being sent to Lower Manhattan in response to a recent biological attack resulting in the death of numerous civilians and SHD Agents. Your job will be to hunt down Aaron Keener who orchestrated the attack and who we believe is planning to launch future attacks. Considering the delicate scenario, once sent to New York, you wont be able to return to Washington D. for the duration of the entire operation. However, once youve reached Level 40 and finished the main campaign missions, youll be free to switch between Washington D. C and New York as you want, enjoying the brand new endgame and seasonal post-launch activities. Five main campaign missions The renewed battle for New York unfolds across five main campaign missions (four of which can be tackled in any order) along with open-world activities and eight interconnected side missions that let Agents further interfere with Keeners plans. Once youve finished those, youll have a new endgame to contend with, which affects not only New York but Washington, DC as well. All is connected There are five distinct investigation threads, each linking the main and side missions together and leading you through the narrative. 5 Main Missions 8 Side Missions Main missions and side missions are now linked together. Improved Boss fight mechanics Unique Skill Mod rewards Lower Manhattan Map Expansion: Lower Manhattan 4 Named Zones Fog of War – Explore the map to identify points of interest and activities. Wide range of Open World activities as well as new secrets and collectibles to find. Four New Named Zones Warlords of New Yorks Lower Manhattan contains four new named zones to explore: the Financial District, Two Bridges, Battery Park, and Civic Center. These areas make up a massive former Dark Zone that encompasses places like Wall Street and Chinatown, all recently smashed by a summer hurricane into a treacherous, twisted landscape. The new zones are open only to Agents whove reached Level 30 and World Tier 5. Each zone levels up along with your Agent, letting you explore freely as you climb toward the new level cap of 40. Financial District Two Bridges Battery Park Civic Center Enemy Scaling and Freedom of Choice In The Division 2 Warlords of New York, enemy levels always scale to player level, regardless of the activity you choose. Youll be able to explore the map and play any mission you want, whatever order you prefer since missions will be scaled according to your level, alongside the Open World. Choose your own path, agents! Of course, its still possible to play missions with other agents since enemies will scale their power to the group members in the session. Once you finish the new main campaign missions and reach the new level cap at 40, all world activities will scale at max level too, including those in Washington D. Playing the main campaign missions will sure help to get to the maximum level and finish your objective. However, exploring New York has its own rewards! Not only will you encounter Control Points, Supply Drops, patrolling enemies and other activities, you can also pick up loot from the different containers spread around New York, new collectibles, puzzles and much more! All these activities scale with your level too and make New York truly your own playground! Fog of War. Fog Upon the arrival in New York, what Agents should expect is an unexplored territory where the entire world map is initially covered by Fog of War. While the Fog of War is active, question marks will appear on the world map, and it is up to you to find whats hidden in the area. GPS navigation wont be available until the map is explored, but once you clear the Fog of War, all markers on the world map will be revealed. Even in the dark of the Fog of War, youll be able to see clues that will help you through the hunt for your primary target: Aaron Keener. Agents, youre the Light in the Dark. Factions of NYC While the Rikers and Cleaners may be familiar names to the veterans of the first game, they are not quite the same factions as you might remember. In the months passed between the two games, the factions have re-organized themselves after the loss of their leaders, grown more battle-hardened and are now more tactically minded in combat. In addition to these, you will also find the occasional Last Man Battalion soldier together with the Black Tusk, as the remnants of the once-powerful mercenary group are now under Black Tusk command. Rikers – Escaped inmates from Rikers Island Prison. Cleaners – Former sanitation workers who believe the way to stop the virus is to burn it out. Peacekeepers – Civilian group made up of battle-hardened survivors and former JTF members. Other Additions Level 40 With TU8 / Warlords of New York, we get a new level cap – Level 40. Your adventures in New York require an upgrade to your firepower, which is why in The Division 2 Warlords of New York, players will be able to increase their Level from 30 to 40 and are presented with our new end-game. Gear Score, a term our veteran players know, will no longer be the way to measure how powerful your agent will be once you venture into Lower Manhattan. Players who dont own the expansion will continue to protect Washington D. in World Tier 5, at Level 30 and an increased 515 Gear Score. They wont be able to join New York players or Level 40 agents in the Level 40 Washington D. C or New York activities, but will still share public spaces such as Settlements or the Base of Operation. The Division 2 Warlords of New York owners who didnt complete the main Washington D. campaign and World Tiers can, if they wish to do so, start from Level 30, World Tier 5 and transfer to New York, using the Level 30 Boost that comes with the purchase of the expansion. Level 30 Boost Clarification An unlimited-use level-30 boost is included in the Warlords of New York expansion, available on March 3. A single-use level-30 boost is available in the in-game store now. The single-use can still be purchased by players who have already pre-ordered the expansion. This is not intentional, and players who purchased both products accidentally can contact support for a refund. Coop level 30 and level 40 If you are playing content in Washington D. C., level 30 and level 40 players can play together, there are no restrictions. The level 30 player will be buffed to level 40 – like when you play with a sub-30 player – and everybody will be able to do their job. The Raid will have a level 30 and a level 40 version, currently it has not been defined how exactly it will work there. Four New Skills Youll also be able to unlock four new Skills, including a decoy, an incendiary sticky bomb launcher, a trip-wire trap, and an explosive sticky bomb launcher. New Gear Warlords of New York will also see a large number of new exotics, named items and gear be introduced to the game. Exotics At launch you wont be able to upgrade exotics to level 40, as they would like you to focus on the new exotics and items in general. They do want to allow you to bring them up later and are looking at interesting ways of doing it that also make exotic materials more useful. A New Cohesive End-game Experience A major focus during the development of Warlords of New York was to create a compressive, cohesive end-game experience with clear goals after having reached Level 40. A number of features will come together to shape this new end-game experience, including SHD Levels, Legendary difficulty, Seasons and more. SHD Levels A new infinite progression system unlocks points to improve your agent on a regular basis. Once you hit level 40 – the new level cap – the SHD Levels replace the old Field Proficiency system. Instead of earning a cache with loot, you now have the opportunity to invest points into one of four distinct Core Attribute categories that give your agent a permanent upgrade. Overview. Point Increase There are a total of four Core Attribute categories (Offense, Defense, Utility, Handling) and one Scavenging category. Defense, for example, also has subcategories and in each sub-category you can invest a total of 50 points. For example, you can increase your Total Health through these SHD Level Points and each point gives you 0. 2% more health as permanent upgrade. That means, when you max out that category, you have 10% more health. Scavenging has, in contrast to the other categories, no cap and can be invested in as much as you want. Through this category, you get access to resources. As you level up the SHD Level, your watch will also get visual improvements and will look more impressive. Not Mandatory As mentioned, the SHD Level System has clear defined caps and when you max out a category, you dont get 400% more damage. It gives you an increase that you will notice, but it is not mandatory to max out all categories to be able to play the Raid for example. Account vs. Character At the moment it has not been specified if the SHD Level can be leveled per account or if it is character bound. Core Attribute categories are: The Core Attribute categories upgrades are finite. Once maxed out, the SHD level points can be spend into the fifth, scavenging category – yielding credits and crafting materials. Offense: Weapon Damage Headshot Damage Critical Hit Chance Critical Hit Damage Defense: Armor Health Explosive Resistance Hazard Protection Utility: Skill Damage Skill Haste Skill Duration Skill Repair Miscellaneous: Accuracy Stability Reload Speed Ammo Capacity The Scavenging category gives players resources, including: Credits Steel Ceramics Polycarbonate Carbon Fiber Electronics Titanium Printer Filament The look of your Agents wristwatch, representing SHD Level, will become increasingly impressive over time, signifying players reached milestones to other Agents. Heroic Difficulty for the other Factions Heroic difficulty missions will no longer be exclusive to Black Tusk, and all factions will be available in Heroic difficulty. Legendary Difficulty The new Legendary difficulty will become available to Level 40 agents and it is The Division 2s pinnacle difficulty. While the raid was all about puzzles, coordination and teamwork, Legendary Difficulty is designed to test how good players are at every aspect of combat. A new, elite sub-faction of the Black Tusk will be sure to keep you on your toes through a new legendary AI. It Scales Legendary difficulty scales depending on whether Agents play solo or with a team. Active on three Strongholds Players who feel Heroic difficulty isnt challenging enough can try Legendary difficulty in the three original Strongholds, featuring the toughest AI yet. Roosevelt Island Capitol Building District Union Arena New Enemy The Black Tusk got a visual makeover in Legendary missions, trading all-black outfits for all-white ones. Enemy AI has been toughened, and cooldowns and wind-up times have been shortened to get a more pure and deadlier version of the original Black Tusk Archetype to provide a challenge for the top players. The goal is, that the difficulty does not come from enemy health or damage, but from their AI and tactics. You will need min-maxed gear that is optimized for that sort of content and does its job in terms of effectiveness or damage. Some Archetypes also got new abilities to make them more deadlier. For example: The legendary Black Tusk Tank now has a Wasp Hive equipped – so the closer he gets, the more dangerous he is. Rewards Since Gear 2. 0 is also part of TU8, it is now possible that difficulty = loot quality. But how does that work? When you look at the stats on the equipment they have defined what “average rolls” for the attributes are and the higher your difficulty is, you have less bad rolls on your gear. So there will be a big difference in terms of how good the rolls on your gear are between normal difficulty and legendary difficulty. Legendary Leaderboards Something they have on the radar and when this is something the community wants, then that will be something they look into. Directives. Image Independently from Global Difficulty, directives allow you to activate gameplay modifiers on main missions, side missions, and open-world activities; increasing the overall difficulty and granting you additional XP. You will be able to activate up to 5 directives, scaling up the XP reward multiplier for each active directive. As seasonal XP is gained by all activities that yield XP, activating directives will also boost your seasonal XP gain. The Selections You can select from these Directives: Ammo Hoarders Start with less ammo & lose rounds left when reloading. Enemies dont drop ammo & no ammo is shown on the mini-map. Cool Skills When one skill is activated the other is put on cooldown. Fog of War Revisited Mini Map and directional threat indicators are removed. No Regen Armor never regenerates after an encounter. It can be manually healed. Special Ammo Enemy bullets may be of special types. What type depends on the enemy faction. Global Difficulty With Warlords of New York the behavior of Control Point changes. Before it was a constant fight against the factions and you really had to defend your Control Points. With the update, once you have taken a Control Point it is yours and it will stay that way. Then it is up to you if you want a very peaceful map and let it stay that way. Difficulty. Directives. Confirmation If you want more action, you can reset the map by changing the Global Difficulty. You can select from normal to hard and every time you change that difficulty, the map is reset – including Control Points. When that is not enough – directives can be applied on top of that. Both Global Difficulty and Directives affect every activity you can do in the Open World – Control Points, Supply Drops or Hostage Situations. Of course get rewards and loot that reflects that difficulty. Also – as shown in the screenshots – activating more directives gives you up to 125% more XP while doing activities. Global difficulty settings will apply both to New York and Washington, DC. Some surprises will be injected into the game to ensure that every time you replay something, there will be something to make it a little different. Seasons Overview Seasons is a key aspect of the new end-game experience. Each 12 weeks long, a season will task you to hunt down manhunt targets and earn unique rewards in the process. Seasons will become available for all players when reaching Level 40, allowing you to earn a new skill mod and unique seasonal gear and cosmetics by progressing through the seasonal level system. While participating in Seasonal events will yield additional Season XP, all in-game activities will reward Seasonal XP, allowing you to progress through the seasonal track while engaging in the activities of your choosing. In addition, an optional purchase will be available in the in-game store, which increases the overall rewards gained per season. As a top-level overview, a season is a calendar of in-game activities that ensures that you will have new activities to participate in on a weekly basis. In a nutshell, these activities can be categorized into: Seasonal Manhunt Targets Reimagined Global Events Leagues Apparel Events Season Events Introduction After you have completed the vast new narrative experience in Warlords of New York and reached level 40, Seasons will be waiting for you with a whole new set of rewards, activities, and opportunities. A breakdown of Seasons Once you finish the story of Warlords of New York and reach the new level 40 endgame, Seasons bring further progression opportunities and playstyles. Starting one week after the release of Warlords of New York and lasting 3 months, Seasons revolve around the manhunt, a multi-step journey hunting down Rogue agents; players can also look forward to reimagined Global Events, new gear, Leagues, and apparel – all with a unique thematic that not only applies to loot but also encounter design. Seasonal Manhunt Every Season pits players against a new target, aided by their local network. The Manhunt takes players across a large and varied set of locations in both New York as well as D. – unlocking step by step as targets become available throughout the Season. Finishing the Manhunt will grant a new unique skill mod used by the target players are tasked with taking down. Further down the line, we will communicate how players can attain the unique mods of previous Seasons. Part of our effort to provide players with more meaningful and nuanced gameplay opportunities is to streamline the width of content added to The Division 2, with the goal of more focused and fun experience. Narrative elements have been entwined with the Manhunts story, the gameplay of a particular Season and its Live service, rather than delivered as static story missions such as Classified Assignments. These types of story missions might make occasional appearances but will no longer be the main way we deliver new narrative content going forward. Season Seasonal Activities Throughout a Season there will be a multitude of different activities to provide players with varied and rewarding gameplay. Our fresh take on Global Events will have Agents facing completely new types of challenges never before seen in The Division; new gear sets added in a Season will be designed with the intention of keeping a living and interesting meta-game, and Leagues give players with a more competitive attitude a go-to area to check their standing. Season Progression. Season Progression Players progress through a Season by gaining Season Levels, each unlocking a reward in the Season Track. Season Levels were developed as a direct response to the previous years learnings and player feedback with the intent of making progression feel predictable, ensuring that no matter the mercy of the RNG Gods, you benefit from playing. To reach this goal we have designed the Season Track to feel directed, flavorful and meaningful featuring named weapons and gear. Additionally, Gear Caches will contain season-specific loot tables. The Track has been balanced so that impactful rewards are granted early, to ensure not only the most committed players get to enjoy these and avoiding putting pressure on those who play at a calmer pace. A total of 100 levels can be attained over the 12 weeks of a Season; presently we estimate an average player will gain a level every 30 minutes to 1 hour of gameplay with no additional experience modifiers. These numbers are still in flux. Those who wish to progress faster and perfect their leveling efficiency will be able to do so by completing seasonal activities or participating in XP multiplier events throughout a Season. Anyone who owns Warlords of New York will have access to all Seasonal content for free. Those who wish to gain additional rewards when gaining Season Levels can purchase a Season Pass unlocking an additional track of gear from that Seasons loot table, seasonal apparel, apparel keys, crafting materials and more. To keep the playing field fair, we made sure all gameplay affecting rewards on the additional reward track can be attained through normal playing. Gear available in the Premium track will be non-curated random rolls. Premium Progression track Each Season has two progression tracks. One that is free for everybody and a Premium Progression track. You need to purchase access to the Premium Track and it gives you more rewards. But there is no exclusive game changing gear on the Premium track it is just more of the same equipment and they are of course random rolled. The only thing truly exclusive are the apparel items that you get from the Premium track. The exact price of the Premium Track is still in discussion. What happens to player's that choose to stay in D. C? Traveling back to New York to hunt down Aaron Keener and his posse of Rogue agents will start a whole new chapter of The Division 2 for many players – with a whole new endgame, infinite progression system, seasons and more becoming available at level 40. For those who choose to stay in D. all Year 1 content will still be available, along with level 30 versions of Dark Hours (as well as Raid #2 once released) and the level 30 endgame. To minimize the division of playerbase, any level 40 player will be able to join level 30 activities with level scaling. All players, regardless of the ownership of Warlords of New York, will continue receiving Quality of Life changes, in addition to core system improvements such as Gear 2. 0 and improved UI/UX flows. Apparel Events, Global Events and Seasons are exclusive to owners of Warlords of New York. Dark Zone There will be no new Dark Zone in the Warlords of New York expansion. All these changes apply to the existing Dark Zones in Washington D. Dark Zone Rework “The Dark Zone is a place for wolves and not sheep” With TU8, the Dark Zones get a general overhaul that tunes them into a places for players that are ready to face the challenge of another player. So if you are a player that is ready to fight other players and has no issue with the lawlessness of the Dark Zone, then this new and revamped Dark Zone is made for you. What they dont want to do is to draw in players into those areas that are not looking for this sort of challenge. In essence, if you are a more PVE focused player, you have a lot of other activities and the Dark Zone does not have to be a place to go for you. Player Count is still 12 After the matchmaking changes from Title Update 6 that had the goal to put players into Dark Zone Sessions that already had players in them, it became clear, that the best experience is with 12 players. They made internal tests with 16 players and it just became too crowded – but they will monitor how things develop. VOIP on by default Like in the old Dark Zone, VOIP is on by default, but you still have the option to turn it off. New Social Menu There is also a special social menu that allows you to see players in a 100-meter radius and this also allows you to mute players that are rude. No Signature Ammo There will be no more Signature Weapon ammo in the Dark Zone, so you will not be able to use Signature Weapons in the Dark Zone. More Ammo Crates There will be Ammo Crates at every Extraction Zone. Good Loot The Dark Zone is a good place to get some of the best gear in game and there is also exclusive DZ gear. Clean loot is gone Clean loot is gone, all loot you get needs to be extracted. The contaminated loot is no longer scrambled, so you see what you just picked up and you can decide if you want to keep and extract it or not. If you dont want to keep it, you can deconstruct the contaminated loot and earn Dark Zone Resources from that. But even currency needs to be extracted. New ways to earn XP and currency Dark Zone XP and Dark Zone Resources can only be earned from things that have to do with interacting with other players. Kills, Extractions, Revives, protection of Extractions, killing rogues or going Manhunt. More Extraction Zones Since pretty much everything in the Dark Zone is contaminated and needs to be extracted, there are also more Extraction Zones per Dark Zone – three to be exact. Grey rogue status is removed The Grey Rogue status that was introduced with The Division 2 is removed. You are either rogue or you are not. Faster Rogue toggle The Rogue Toggle was introduced in Division 1 when it became clear, that going rogue on damage to other players can be exploited. That is why the Rogue Toggle was introduced that had to be pushed for multiple seconds while the other players around you got a notification that someone was about to go rogue. With TU8 that mechanic is still there but it is a lot faster – it takes about 300ms to register and then you are rouge. On top of that, it also does not impact what you are doing. So when you are aiming at someone, you can still do that, press the Rogue Toggle and open fire. But while you can toggle rogue faster, the other players still get a notification that someone is going rogue so that you have at least a chance to react. New Dark Zone Perks The Dark Zone Perks have also been revamped: Theyve removed the things that had the goal to avoid PVP (like shortening the extraction process. On top of that, the Dark Zone Rank now means something, because you can only earn XP for that rank through interaction with other players. Occupied Dark Zone becomes Invaded Dark Zone With TU8 they are stepping away from having “normal” and “occupied” Dark Zones. Now both Dark Zones have the same rules and it makes basically no difference, what Dark Zone you venture into. The former “Occupied Dark Zone” is now just an “Invaded Dark Zone” – so as before you face the Black Tusk. The Manhunt mechanic of the old Occupied Dark Zone is now applied to all Dark Zones. Gear 2. 0 will also impact PVP They also want to highlight, that all the Gear 2. 0 changes, how the builds are put together or how Skills now scale, have an impact on how PVP plays and how encounters play out. So PvP will be very different once that drops. Title Update 8 Warlords of New York expansion will be accompanied by the FREE Title Update 8 for all The Division 2 players on March 3rd. We have been hard at work reworking a number of core areas of the game while also keeping both Washington D. Cs end-game and the new, level 40 New York City end-game in mind. A lot of these changes have been heavily influenced by community feedback weve received since launch. New Level 30 Power Level Gear Score 515 Gear 2. 0 Reworked brand set bonuses to better fit common playstyles Return of the so-called” God Roll”, allowing items to potentially drop with maxed out attributes in all areas Core attributes for all items Improved UI to at a glance identify the quality of an item More powerful, build-defining talents Talent requirement has been removed Gearsets and Exotics revamp Mod slots have been redistributed and are now linked to specific gear slots & more…. Summary Recalibration Changes Extract item talents and attributes and store them permanently in your recalibration library If you find a higher roll of a stored attribute, you can replace the old stored attribute at any time The UI will seamlessly indicate that you have a better roll available to store in the library Stored attributes can be used indefinitely and are not used up in the recalibration process Talents, stats, core stats, and mod slots will be recalibratable The 1 recalibration per item limit will remain & more…. State of the Game Recap - February 12, 2020.

The climb watch full fight. TL/DR Thank you Respawn for all the wonderful S4 changes. Respawn does a great job at balancing weapons, but poor job at balancing legends. Revenant needs buffed. Passive: infinite wall climb is not OP in world of Path. Needs added. Tactical: no complaints. Ultimate: biggest flop. Splitting HP in gun fights is pointless and of little use. 15-25 health upon return to totem is suggested and not OP. First off I want to congratulate Respawn on a successful year and anniversary. Apex has obviously changed all of our lives, and most importantly theirs. The S4 changes are amazing. Everything done to the map from the Harvester POI to the atmospheric changes and Capital fragmentation have fixed many issues that the player base has had with the map. I have also never played an FPS where the weapons are so balanced. A player can win a game easily with almost any fully kitted weapon combination and that is a testament to the response to player feedback and the developers general love for the game and its contents. This game being a BR weapon balancing is very important due to the increased RNG. Yes, we have had weapon hiccups, but in general the weapon nerfs and buff have gone in a positive direction. Imagine picking up a pre-season 1 Flatline or Wingman. Thank you. Season 4 has had a lot of hype mostly due to Revenant. He was a fan favorite even before he was confirmed. The fan art has been astounding and swift. The trailers were beautiful and the rollout was top tier entertainment. This being said. I for one was wishing Revenant was going to be competitive in the general legend meta. Watching him played and playing him myself I have yet to discover a reason to play him over Wraith, Path, Gibby, Bang, Lifeline, or even Mirage and Wattson. For an assassin character with so much edge and emphasis on overcoming death he does not add much to the already established game play. Passive: In a world of Pathfinder having the ability to mount the top of a 5 story building in 2 seconds, Revenant not having the ability to scale a building infinitely is embarrassing. The time it takes to climb any large building is a downside and leaves Revenant at risk of being shot down which balances this ability well. I would even go a step further and suggest climbing speed should be increased. The crouch walking speed is effective in my opinion, no changes suggested. Tactical: This "silencing" ability is tricky. I personally think the ability is very strong and effective, but I have seen suggestions from other well known players on buffs. I'll leave this one up to the community. No changes suggested from me. Ultimate: This ability is what bothers me the most. This ability is what makes Revenant, Revenant, but it is very underwhelming. First of all the ability is nicknamed "death protection. but it is more of death postponement. If you enter the death totem at full purple shield and full health, damage is only dealt to your health (100 hp) or whatever you enter the totem with. Then once you die you return back to the totem at 1 hp and full shields. (101 hp. No matter how this is used a players HP is being split in half for whatever gun fight of situation you are in. In a gun fight this is mostly a hindrance because it forces you to combat at a handicap and then exit the gunfight at low HP. Its like having an escape like Bang, Path, or Wraith, but not at your choice, its an ult, and to use it you have to drop to 100 hp. Now yes anyone can use this ULT, but its a real feel bad when your team rushes into a fight essentially at 100 hp then "die" only to either postpone continued fighting till we heal or rush back into a fight at 100 hp (or whatever shield you happen to have. The totem is timed, has a distance restriction, and is countered very easily if an enemy team know where the totem is. Imagine if using a Wraith portal cost 100 hp. Now what I suggest his ULT buffs to be depends on the type of character we want Rev to be. He is an assassin and aggressive player. My first suggestion is when someone dies in shadow mode they should return to the totem with 15-25 health points. Which would make the totem a flavorful, fun, over shield. An over shield is essentially death protection from a different angle. Returning to the totem with a little extra health would in no way be overpowered due to the many downsides of the totem. Secondly, either remover the distance or extend it. I don't even know what the distance exactly is TBH. The timer is fine. Alternatively, what if entering the totem with low health gave you 100 hp no matter the circumstance. An inst-heal/separate hp model for the shadow. Shadow mode needs abilities, like in Shadowfall. Shadow mode is extremely underwhelming. Increased melee? Movement speed? Something. Competitively, Revenant is questionable, but close. I follow competitive Apex pretty closely and it would be really nice and refreshing for viewers and pros if the legend meta was shaken up somehow. fixing his ultimate would do this IMO. And I know, Respawn caters to the casuals and rightly so. They spend most of the money and make up 99% of the player base. (guess. But, the majority of the top tier Apex streamers are professional players or player that play with a competitive mindset. Thus, all the eyes on their game at is fueled and represented by competitive players. I merely suggest to make your new and most beloved character at this moment competitive. Push the limits. As much as we complain. When it comes to legends, I for one, would rather be calling for Nerfs instead of buffs. Respawn made Gibby playable and is pushing Bloodhound in the right direction. Revenant is pathetic. Thoughts and feedback are welcome.

Many units that have been able to climb walls in tabletop (like Forest Goblin Spider Riders) or should just be able to do so logistically (Skaven, ethereal units) still require ladders. Certain walls, especially with Vampire and Lizard walls for some reason, are really finicky about allowing you to click your ladder placement on them. You need to come in at a pixel-perfect weird angle to click them. Units FREQUENTLY drop orders to erect ladders when they're at the walls. They move into the position at the base of the wall and then just sit there cluelessly being shot by towers until you re-order them. Arbitrary magic restrictions for casting on walls. Maybe things like moving vortexes (Flame Storm, Banishment) would be too glitchy to allow, but plenty spells seem disallowed for no particular reason. I can't use Pendulum but I can use Pit of Shades? Where's either the game or internal logic? Best is buffing/healing spells like Nehek that just decide being atop a wall while healing is too far, but being casted on the ground and catching your wall units in the circle's periphery is okay. Spells can't navigate around the bases of walls. How many times have you tried to cast a line spell like Winds of Death on that unit standing by the gate, only for it to veer off inexplicably by 195 degrees and wasting your magic. Wall standing spots are too rigid, compared to something like battlefield movement where you can place your formation wherever they'll fit as opposed to conforming to preset tiles. This is particularly inconvenient when trying to fit a couple units in the same area that should logically be able to fit but don't. Units are absolutely retarded about pathing on and off walls. If you overchase a routing enemy with one of your model off the walls, the other 89 models in that unit will follow and are really stubborn about getting back up. I once overchased two Chosen into routing Bowmen, only for them to get caught by Grail Knights and REFUSING to climb back on the wall no matter how much I spam clicked. Line-of-sight on walls for missile units can be whack, oftentimes refusing to shoot at an approaching enemy that isn't in direct center of their LoS. GATES. Enemies frequently open the gate while you're attacking it, sometimes allowing you to pass inside, sometimes not. Sometimes your models will clip inside and they'll open the gate, but you aren't allowed to order them to retreat outside. Multi-model units attacking a gate will clip through, allowing the enemy to attack them with no retreat. Ranged line-of-sight through gates is buggy and unreliable. It seems particularly bad for foot missiles. Gates can easily be block-cheesed on defense. A Norscan War Mammoth will have no idea how to enter a destroyed gate into a city if one Empire Captain is standing in front of him. Rams are shit and entirely too slow. Totally worthless to factions with good monsters and just tower/missile bait to anything else. I'd prefer to run any infantry unit without a ram even if it takes them longer to break down the gate. SETTLEMENTS. Many, many fort layouts are mostly copy-pasted. One-wall or two-wall assault with minute differences in the "street" layouts. Settlements hardly take into account racial differences at all. The only thing that makes some settlements better than others is where their capture points are set, and that just seems like an accidental byproduct of the art direction. Karaz-a-Karak is as difficult to assail as Castle Templehof? I was also unaware the Vampires had artillery but only to be used in turrets around their settlements. Dwarves and Skaven only have one layer of defense to the hearts of their strongholds. If the settlements are meant to be equal across the board, why does race seem to highly determine how effective towers are? Tier 5 Skaven and Lizard towers annihilate hundreds of attackers, meanwhile, tier 5 Bretonnian towers don't make a huge difference. Similarly, garrisons largely vary in dependability. All but the largest Bretonnian settlements have like two Knights of the Realm, tops, but Norscan "settlements" can fend off most rebellions singlehandedly. Building models often have weird invisible hitboxes. Sometimes you can't stretch out a unit as far as you visibly appear to be able to, and other times the camera can't handle going within 30 feet of a building. This one's rare, but sometimes you're unable to click units because of invisible hitboxes on the taller buildings. AI/CAMPAIGN. Arbitrary "siege attacker" restrictions for attacking a settlement on your first turn, especially when your entire army has ladders in their asshole. I'm sure a bunch of greenskins would think "wait, guys, we can't just charge the enemy. We need to spend a week building one ram, then the siege is golden. Did I mention every foot unit has ladders in their asshole? Why are these always ready to go for everyone but something like one shitty ram takes a whole turn to construct. Every faction has siege towers despite them either logically not being able to build them (Beastmen) or not really having the need for them (Skaven. Vermintides emerge from the ground only to deploy outside the city. lol - You very rarely ever get your settlements attacked unless the battle is hopelessly in the enemy's favor. Balance of power massively over-favors enemy armies if they're defending. A BoP can be dead-even when you have 16 Chosen and the enemy has a couple of Ironbreakers and a Gyrocopter. Yeah, those 24 kills the towers got altogether really were an odd-evener. Glad I have to fight a bunch of boringly easy battles manually. Depending on your faction, defending the walls and manning towers can be a complete waste of time, the best strategies often being having the enemy choke up in the funnel to your cap and cheesing artillery/missiles on the blob. This also can be really settlement dependent as seemingly arbitrary things such as whether there are 3 or 4 routes to your town square allows the AI to path there efficiently. The AI in this game isn't impressive but it's at least serviceable in field battles. Cheesing enemy settlements with artillery is so incredibly easy, having them sit there and take 80 mortars and refusing to either sally out or at the least, stop standing on that one wall where you killed 400 of their buddies. Enemy AI often puts most of their strong units on the capture point when successful attacks rarely reach there anyway. Star dragons and Grail Guardians just sit and watch as their chaff is massacred then flee during Army Losses without having fought at all. Out of my 1100 hours in this game, I think I have won settlement assaults via capture two, three times at the most, and that includes not full caps, but baiting the enemy out of other positions. The very nature of settlement battles means some units are far better than others. On the one hand, I definitely believe artillery and big monsters should help you out more in a siege than heavy and skirmish cavalry, but on the other hand, you can't easily or quickly swap out armies in campaign, so if you want to play "optimally. you're just gonna have to avoid those Razorgore Chariots altogether and just spam Cygors. OVERALL, sieges are repetitive, boring, too easy, and take entirely too much time for battles that are won the same ways over and over. I love this game and I appreciate the dev work a lot, but it's no secrets most seasoned players hate sieges, especially since they've been dumbed down from previous TW titles despite the fact the unit rosters are more complex than ever. I assume they're withholding any MAJOR changes 'til Warhammer III. I hope so, because I don't see my self buying the game if this HUGE chunk of campaigns is still this mediocre.

The Climb Watch full. The Climb Watch full review. The climb watch full hd. About three years ago I was a science reporter on board the North Atlantic research vessel, Baseline Explorer. We were roughly twenty km off the coast of Bermuda at the time, and I was getting set to go down in a two-man submersible, something Id wanted to do since I was a kid. The pilot of the sub was a deep sea veteran called Percy, great guy, great sense of humour; spoke with a thick Texan drawl that made even dumb things sound folksy and wise. First words he said to me were: ‘you ever been down in one of these? ‘Never. I was grinning, excited as a schoolboy. I was practically shaking. ‘Youll never forget it, he assured me. In hindsight that was some genius-level foreshadowing if ever I heard it. These submersibles weigh in at about eight tonnes, rigged with state-of-the-art scientific equipment, massive search beams mounted just forward of the acrylic bubble, theyre ultra-manoeuvrable even at extreme depths, you can spin them three sixty degrees on a dime, and they have this massive hydraulic arm that the pilot controls with a joystick, I saw Percy move that arm so skilfully I swear to God he could have plucked the pacifier out of a babys mouth without even waking it. When he wasnt piloting the sub Percy liked to play computer games back in the ships rec room. Ive played untold levels of Call of Duty with him and take it from an old-school gamer like me, this guy is crazy good, and whats even crazier, hes fifty-eight years old with six grandchildren. Percy was a great guy. But after that voyage, my first, his hundred and third, he was never that same guy again. None of us were ever the same again. The submersibles are miracles of engineering, they can withstand up to twenty-five EAs (Earth Atmospheres) which basically means twenty-five times the pressure at surface level. Thats the equivalent of an ant moving around with twelve jumbo jets parked right on top of it. Ill never forget the sensation the first time I slipped down through the bubbles hatch. I was scared. I knew what to expect but I didnt expect the bubble to be so small, it felt claustrophobic, like climbing down into a tumble dryer, but it actually wasnt so bad once I was seated. We had a panoramic view of the world through the wrap-around glass, better than IMAX, but as the ships crane lowered us into the water I couldnt help wondering whether this was the last time Id ever see the sunlight. I was nervous about the journey ahead. My publishers wanted a video essay of a deep sea dive in one of the subs, which made sense seeing as my job was to report on all the functions of a scientific research vessel, but we were going down close to the subs limits, almost a thousand metres, and suddenly the whole thing was very daunting. But Percy quickly put me at my ease, hed been down over a hundred times, and in his opinion it was safer than driving to the neighbourhood liquor store. As the sub descended into the depths it felt like we were motionless for long periods of time, like we were just hanging there in an eternity of blue-tinted space, but Percy assured me we were still descending, still going down, the water becoming bluer, darker, the deeper we went. There was a second submersible trailing us like a ghost. The pilot was an Israeli guy called Avi. He was a stoic son-of-a-bitch. Id been on board the Baseline Explorer three weeks and Id never seen him crack so much as a smile. He was nicknamed The Machine. The name fit him like a glove. He flashed his searchlights at us at the beginning of the trip when we were hovering close to the surface, and sometimes Percy would talk to him over the radio as we made our way down, but it was all professional chitchat, The Machine wasnt the kind of person who inspired small talk. As co-pilot of the sub it was pretty much my job to keep the glass clear of condensation, so every few minutes Id give the inside of the acrylic bubble a wipe-over, the rest of the time I was filming and commentating on whatever I was seeing around me. Around 200 metres down we started moving from the epipelagic zone (the sunlight zone) to the twilight or “mesopelagic” zone, and now the ocean turned this deep aquamarine, like the sky just before dawn, we see a moray eel slithering through the cone of our search lights, a school of grouper fish flittering around us like silver confetti, and The Machine calls our attention to a couple of small tiger sharks that follow us for a while and then peel off into the darkness. Were almost a thousand metres underwater and its pitch black. Were in the midnight zone. Not a single photon of light is able to get down this far. The only source of illumination is our searchlights. Were just fixing to start heading back when suddenly Percy kills all momentum. Were just hanging there. “Whats wrong? ” Percy looked stone-faced, his skin had drained of all colour and his lips were trembling, like he was muttering something under his breath, and he had this fixed expression on his face, this intensity to his gaze that warned me something was off. ‘Percy…? Percy reached out and snapped the searchlights off. ‘Theres something out there, he whispered. I dont know how to describe the impact those words had on me, you can report the things a man says, but it is hard to convey the way he says them, and the way Percy said, “theres something out there, ” sent an instant chill down my spine. He sounded scared. Only the sound of our breathing now as we both stared out into the pitch blackness. There was something out there. I couldnt see it, but I could sense it, something was watching us, and Ive never felt anything like that before, I was an atheist at the time but afterwards I would describe it as a religious experience. I have no idea what I meant by that. I was in shock at the time. I dont know what the fuck I was saying. ‘What is it? I barely recognised the sound of my own voice, it sounded thin and childlike, like suddenly, in a heartbeat, I had regressed to infancy. I gripped Percys arm. ‘Whats out there? I turned to him. He looked like death. He looked more scared than I have ever seen a man, computer lights patterning his features, shadows scavenging his flesh, his eyes yellow and glazed with terror. What the hell would scare a man like Percy? He was hard as nails, an adrenaline junky by all accounts, but right then he looked like he was walking the green mile. I turned back and stared out the bubble of the Atlantis. Darkness so deep it seemed to swallow my thoughts. What was out there? Why was I shaking with this incomprehensible dread? It felt like a premonition of doom. The searchlights from the second sub carved past us, The Machine oblivious to what we could so clearly sense, he was manoeuvring his sub sideways, trying to figure out why we had come to a full stop. ‘Turn the lights off, Percy whispered in a voice tight with panic, and then suddenly he jerked forward and flicked the radio toggle. ‘Avi, turn your fucking lights off, he hissed. But it was too late. The searchlights illuminated something in the darkness below us and to my dying day I wish Id never seen what I saw next. Its haunted my dreams ever since. Ive burned through three marriages and an army of therapists, Ive attempted suicide three times, and Im addicted to opioids and booze and I still cant get that image out of my head. At first I thought I was looking down at some kind of luminous disc of immense size, Id guess three times the diameter of our sub, so Id say about twenty feet across, and it was a silvery texture, soft and slightly faceted. There were bands of colour radiating outwards from this circle of absolute black that sat right in the centre of the disc. I cant describe that black. It was darker than the absence of light, it was the fucking absence of hope; before he put a bullet in his head three years ago Percy called me up: ‘it was like looking into nothing, he told me, ‘absolute zero – it tore my fucking mind apart…. He was sobbing as he spoke. He was in a bad way. His wife had left him. His kids had disowned him. Hed lost his home. His job, his dignity…and finally, he lost the reason to go on living…. Nietzsche once said: “when you look into the abyss, the abyss also looks into you. ” Thats what it felt like staring into that black circle. Like it was staring back at me. I saw it for maybe a second before The Machine snapped his searchlights off, but there was an eternity in that second, there was the sensation of falling into the abyss, being swallowed by the darkness, of slowly losing my mind…. It was an eye. That disc with the black circle in the middle had been a fucking eye that measured twenty feet across, and to this day my skin goes cold when I remember it, this colossal eye staring at us out of the dark, and the intensity of that gaze was beyond human comprehension, it was an intelligence measured in aeons, it was an evil beyond scripture, beyond reason, and it laid its immemorial gaze upon us, and we were blighted by it, scarred by it, destroyed by it… God help us…. And then The Machine snapped his searchlights off and the darkness took away that awful vision, but not the memory of it…I felt despair unlike anything Ive ever experienced, a black terror filled my heart, that eye, Jesus Christ in heaven, how big was the monster that possessed that eye….? It felt Biblical. I didnt have to look at Percy to know he was feeling the same thing. That eye did not belong to a thing of reason or nature; it was not a thing of science, it was a monster, it was the mother of every nightmare our children wake screaming from. And even as I thought this, Percy whispered: ‘…curse that day, those who are ready to rouse Leviathan…. And to my ears he sounded like a dead man quoting scripture. I gazed into the darkness ahead, I knew that eye was still staring at us even though I could no longer see it, I felt the crushing weight of its gaze, and I was drunk with the horror of it, making sounds at the back of my throat, attempts to speak but no words came out, I was trapped, I wanted to run and hide but sitting in a tiny submersible one thousand metres below sea level theres nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide…. The radio crackled, The Machine was saying something but I wasnt listening, I was still staring into that god awful darkness. Something was moving out there, I could sense it, like a mountain turning its ancient face towards us, and I could feel the dreadful gravity of that monster as it turned, the most horrific images flashing through my head, mass graves filled with bodies not quite dead, a wolf chewing through a leg caught in a hunters trap, emaciated children standing behind a chain link fence, refugees caught on barbed wire borders, screaming for help, I was tearing at my hair and beating at my skull, but the images only grew more horrific, and my brain felt like one huge, pulsing blood-clot. I heard Percy howling in pain and terror. I heard my own screams from a million miles away. And then, abruptly, the images were gone. I sucked in a sobbing breath, and turning to Percy I yelled: ‘Get us out of here! He shook his head. ‘Look, he said. Something had appeared in the darkness ahead. There was some kind of fissure opening up in the inky void, a fiery glow spilling out of it that illuminated the surrounding ocean, and as I watched, the fissure grew wider and wider, until it gaped almost a hundred feet wide, maybe more, and that fiery, larval glow filled my entire forward vision, it was the colour of napalm and post nuclear sunsets, and staring into that yawning chasm I swear to God I saw hell incarnate, filled with multitudes of tortured souls. My therapists all said it was a hallucination. But Percy and The Machine both saw the same thing. The fissure opened into a cavern of impossible dimensions, so vast it contained entire mountain ranges, and fiery lakes, and rivers of boiling blood, and molten rain, burning as it fell from thick sulphur yellow clouds, and I saw naked multitudes, thousands upon thousands of screaming souls, being snatched up by enormous winged beasts and cast into these lakes of fire. The winged beasts were horrific looking, some kind of hybrid, they carried pitchforks and branding irons and some of them had the heads of birds and the bodies of men, and others were reptilian monstrosities, but all of them, I sensed, were filled with a black hatred for humanity. Percy was screaming the Lords prayer, and I remember my mouth stretched wide, gaping in horror, and tears streaming down my face, and then, that awful fissure slowly closed, and I think it was that moment I realised I had been staring into the mouth of that creature…. I dont remember how we got back to the surface. I remember they had to handcuff me to a cot in the infirmary once we were back on board the ship, I was screaming, I couldnt stop, they made me wear diapers, I couldnt even control my bowels. I was in the infirmary three days, screaming and shitting myself into a stupor. The Machine hung himself a week after returning home. His wife found him. He left a note. A single word in Hebrew. “Leviathan. ” Im trying to put it behind me. Its been six years and Im the only one left. The days are getting better, but I dread the coming of night, sinking down into sleep the way we sank down into that abyss, terrified of what awaits me in my dreams. Ive never been back to the ocean. God bless us all.

The climb watch full game. It knew I was coming. The radio cut out a few miles from the house, giving me several long seconds to contemplate the empty road. “Turn back, ” a voice came slithering out of the speaker, deep and static-choked. I clicked off the radio. “Nope. ” For nearly a minute I continued on in silence. Then a rising shriek began peeling from the dead radio. Before it got loud enough to hurt, I pulled noise cancelling headphones from my glove-box. It wasnt unusual for a job to catch wind of me coming and to reach out to say hello. But most jobs could only affect a few hundred yards from the client. Something that could stretch out from miles away? That was new and shitty. The rest of the drive was quiet and fine. Midwinter sunshine fell easy on the fields and forests of Maryland as I passed. I was the only car on the road. Every now and then I would catch a glimpse of a shadowy figure in my back seat. I ignored it. No matter how big the job, I knew there wasnt much it could do to me this far out. When I started to see familiar faces in the silhouette I turned my rear-view mirror up towards the ceiling. Whatever it was, it knew I was coming, it had a hell of a reach, and it was kind of a dick. I parked on the street next to the Hoffs' house. They lived in a tidy rancher, blue siding, willows in the yard, gravel drive, the whole nines. It was a lovely acre in a lovely neighborhood and I couldnt look at the house without feeling nauseous. I slipped off one headphone to make sure the screaming had stopped. Quiet, so I stepped outside and took it all in. Then I took the flask of Wild Turkey from my jacket pocket. As I raised the bourbon to take a pull, I felt the dirty chill of a jobs attention. The bottle shattered in my hand. This thing was absolutely a dick. I walked up to the Hoffs pretty blue door and tried my best to look presentable. My denim jacket was frayed and old, I was wearing a band shirt from a show Id never been to, and I hadn't shaved in a weeks worth of Sundays. I did brush my teeth that morning, though, so I was feeling crisp. I knocked my most professional knock and waited. A noticed a little bourbon was dripping down my pants and soaking into my socks. It was a banner day, already. A couple opened the door. The wife was short and had skin like new caramel. She wore red flannel and jeans and was shockingly pretty. The husband was tall, paler than me, broad-shouldered but a little soft in the gut. Ms. Hoff seemed slightly out of his league but its entirely possible he was funny or something. I pegged them both as late-30s, a few years older than me, though I probably looked at least ten years their senior. My hair was already rivered with grey and I carried a perpetual hangover with me like my own personal ball and chain. Neither of the pair looked like theyd slept more than a few hours in the last week. I recognized their burnout, a reflection Id seen many times. “Im Eric, ” I said. “How ya doin? ” They told me their names, which Im redacting for privacy and because I forgot them. “Not great, ” Ms. Hoff said as they moved to let me in the door. “Kinda at the end of our rope, ” Mr. Hoff added. I nodded and tried to drag up a smile. “Its funny how quick rope runs out. Life gets tight. Why dont you show me the job-sorry, I mean your son? ” As we walked through the house I got a snapshot of the Hoffs' world. Family pictures dotted the walls: the couple, smiling, baby photos of a boy and a girl, school portraits, vacations, all the normal signs of a lovely life. One large group shot hung in a place of pride in the den. It was the Hoffs and two children, a boy of about 13 and a girl maybe half that age. All four of them were posed on the beach wearing matching white shirts and blue shorts. The whole effect was cheesy and sweet and their smiles were wide and warm. I had to fight down a sudden daydream about Jen and me on the beach. Would we have taken silly photos in matching shirts if wed had kids? Jen probably would have loved that and I would have pretended to protest but gone along anyway because… Ms. Hoff stopped at the start of the hall and turned to me, snapping me back to real life. “I have to ask, ” she said, worrying at the nails of one hand with the other. “This s really been a nightmare Mr. -” “Erics fine, ” I said. She nodded. “Eric. Its been, ” Ms. Hoff threw up her hands. “I dont even know how to tell you. Im so scared for our son. ” “Weve taken John to every doctor in the area, ” Mr. Hoff said. “Weve taken him to three psychologists, one up all the way in Baltimore. We even asked our priest to take a look, the same one who baptized John and his sister. Nothing seems to help. ” Mr. Hoff ran a big hand through thinning blond hair. “Theres something deeply, viciously wrong with John. When I look him in the eyes, I just. I swear its not my son looking back at me. The eyes are his but theyre not. I know that doesnt make sense. None of this makes-” “We need to know, ” Ms. Hoff jumped it, “we have to know that youre on the level. I hope you can forgive us for being a little skeptical. I dont think its every day you find a professional exorcist through social media. ” I fished in my jacket pocket for a business card. “Amateur exorcist. I like to stress that. ” I handed the couple some cards. “To the best of my knowledge there isnt really a licensing committee for exorcists, so Im reluctant to call myself a pro. Maybe semi-professional. The Vatican has its own accreditation process but its not like they offer it online. And Im not exactly seminary material. So think of me as more of eelance consultant. ” “Are you bullshit? ” Ms. Hoff asked me point-blank. “No, ” I told her. “I know exactly how it sounds. And I know Im the clean-cut edge of professionalism here. But Im real. The genuine article. Its pretty fucking weird but if you found me Im guessing youve seen miles and miles of weird already. ” I heard the knuckles pop as Mr. Hoff made a fist. “Something took him, something is in there with John. Its hurting him. I know it. I just dont know how to help. ” The last part came out choked. He was determined and he was steady but he clearly had no ideas, no options for how to take the pain from his son. I understood that frustration, feeling the need to move mountains with nothing but a shovel. Hoffs mouth was pressed in a thin line, her jaw tight. “Are you ready? ” she asked me. “Yeah. Lets go see John. ”. The smell hit me through the door. I coughed. “Oh Christ, ” Mr. Hoff muttered. “Im sorry about that. The last few days its been worse. Hes been making messes. ” I pulled my shirt over my mouth and nose when Mr. Hoff opened the door. Johns room was dim, illuminated by a single desk lamp that split shadows from wall-to-wall. His father tried the light switch by the door but nothing changed. The boy was sitting on his bed. I guessed he was right around 13 or 14 years old. John wore jeans but no shirt or shoes. He was scratching violently at his bare, skinny torso leaving open angry red lines all across his chest. “John, ” Ms. Hoff yelled running to him and grabbing his arms. “Stop. Please stop scratching, we talked about this. Youre hurting yourself. Hoff went over to squeeze his sons shoulder and then briefly stepped out of the room. He came back with rags and cleaning supplies and moved to the corner John had used as a bathroom. Mr. Hoff began to tidy up. The boy was staring at me, lips threatening a smile. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck and arms rise. Looking at him was like putting my hand close to an exposed live-wire. The wrongness was written all over and through him from the set of his shoulders to the twitch in his hand. Even his breathing seemed out of rhythm. Johns eyes were the worst part, empty as fresh graves waiting for a funeral. But if I looked long enough, I could see the faintest sign of something under the emptiness, swimming around inside of the boy, a shadow in deep water. “Hi, ” John said to me. His voice was young, normal, but carried an old note hidden under the rest. I ignored the thing pretending to be the boy. “We can go. ”. It smiled as we left. Once we were back in the Hoffs dining room, I dropped into a chair. We probably spent less than ninety seconds in Johns room but I felt tired already. The whole experience left me feeling dirty and depressed. I noticed the Hoffs were still standing, staring at me. “Do you have anything to drink? ” I asked. Hoff walked into the kitchen. “I think weve got some Coke, water, of course, or I could put on coffee, or-” “No, ” I interrupted. “Anything to drink. Hoff looked confused but Ms. Hoff was already stepping around him. She opened a cabinet next to the fridge. “Weve got some Malibu leftover from Christmas, ” Ms. Hoff said, rummaging. “And I think some vodka thats been in here long enough its turning back into potatoes. ” I rubbed my eyes. “Mr. Hoff, please put that coffee on. Hoff, Id appreciate you forever if you could bring that vodka and three mugs to the table. ” “I dont drink, ” Mr. I looked back at Johns room. Even though I couldnt see the thing, I knew it was glaring at me through the wall. “Nows a great time to start, Mr. Hoff, ” I said. Once the coffee was finished, the three of us sat at the dining room table and drank. I put two fingers of vodka in each mug, then another fingers worth in mine after my first few gulps. “Has anything traumatic, unusual, violent or otherwise exceptionally shitty happened to John recently? ” I asked. The couple shared a look. “His sister passed away over the summer, ” Mr. “There was an accident. ” “Car crash? ” I asked. Hoff shook her head. “Um, drowned. We were at the beach. John and Alice went out a little too far and got caught in a riptide. The lifeguards were able to get to John in time but-” She cleared her throat. The words were caught there and she couldnt shake them loose. Hoff finished for her. “Alice was further out in the ocean, much smaller and younger than John, so, you know, she got tired quicker, couldnt fight the current. ” He was staring down at a blank space on their table, grief coming off of him like heat from a radiator. “John tried to get to her, ” Mr. Hoff added, looking up. “He was half-drowning himself but John tried everything to get to his sister. There was just nothing he could do. Nothing anyone could do. ” We sat and drank in silence. “Theyre attracted to all of the painful emotions, ” I said. “Despair, grief, rage, hate, absolute terror. Its all blood in the water for them, they can smell it from far, far away. ” “What are ‘they? ” Ms. Hoff asked. I added more vodka into my mug, skipping the coffee, and pointed towards the floor. When they both looked confused I sighed and put an index finger against each temple, mimicking horns. “I dont believe it, ” Mr. Hoff looked conflicted. “Were not really religious. Are you telling us that, uh, what would you call it, exactly? ” “I guess you could say demons or devils or entities or real scary little shits, ” I said. “I just call them ‘jobs. ” “Like from Hell? ” Mr. I shrugged. “Hell, outer space, Ohio, another dimension; Im not sure where theyre from, exactly. But wherever they come from, they arent supposed to be here. ” “You think theres something in my son, ” Ms. Hoff whispered. “I know it, ” I replied. “And I think you both know it, too. It can hide when it wants to, fool doctors and friends for a time. But the mask slips now and again and theres something alien and hungry behind it. With my line of work, nine times out of ten its a mental health issue, or maybe substance abuse. Every now and then theres a hoax. This is none of that. ” “What is it? ” Mr. “Whats in there with my son? ” I turned to look down the hall. I knew it could hear us. “Theyre hard to label. I wouldnt classify it as a predator or even a scavenger. ‘Parasite is closer but still not right. Parasites take hosts out of necessity and survival. The thing that took your son just likes causing as much pain as possible until the host breaks. Think of it more like a virus with an agenda. Its cruel and its clever and its got John locked in a little box in his own head. The thing will poke and rip and use all of your sons worst memories to twist him into…” I trailed off when I noticed the agony I was causing the Hoffs. They looked sick, like they couldnt breathe. I knew that look well, wore it myself those last few weeks trying to keep Jen. “Im sorry, that was excessive, ” I said. “I just want to get across that we should act as quickly as we can and that, if what comes next is difficult for you to see, just know that its necessary. ” “What comes next? ” Mr. “Well, just like dealing with a virus, you want to make the host an inhospitable place to live. ” I mimed drawing a square on the table with my fingers and tapped the middle. “The thing is rooted in the most damaged corners of Johns mind. It nests in his misery. The best way to counter despair is hope, cheesy at that sounds. We have to throw John a rope. Give him a little faith. ” Ms. Hoff reached out to hold her husbands hand. “Okay, okay I said, were not very religious. I dont know what kind of faith weve got to share. ” I shrugged. “Religion is the common one, the usual. But not the only option. Johns in the dark right now and we need to send up a flare for him. Whats something that would stir up good memories, that would remind him of brighter days? Think happy thoughts, Jens voice ran through my mind like her hand used to travel through my hair while we lay in bed. Think happy thoughts, Eric, its the only way to fly. The Hoffs hesitated, hands still entwined on the table. They reminded me of two trees growing together in the same space, leaning against each other for support against the wind and the world. “Think on it, ” I suggested. I poured myself another shot into the mug and drained it. “Im just going to use your bathroom before we get started. ” Cold water brought me back to the moment. I splashed some more in my face and turned off the sink. My reflection looked flat against the mirror, worn and gray. From the corner of my eye, I noticed movement behind my reflection. It was the same distortion Id seen in the rear-view on my drive to the Hoffs. No matter where I glanced in the mirror, the distortion was always just out of focus. I turned around. There was nothing there. Of course, there was nothing there. Only now there was a shadow behind the closed shower curtain. It was the shape and size of a tall man or woman, hunched nearly in half. I knew that if I pulled the curtain back there would be nothing there. Probably. And if I saw anything it would only be there for a terrible moment. But I didnt humor it. “Dont get cozy. Im going to drag you out, ” I promised the empty room. “And leave you to dry out in the sun while you shrivel and choke. ” The faintest impression of laughter drifting from somewhere in the house. The mirror fogged and invisible fingers began to form scrawling letters. I walked out, not bothering to read whatever it wanted to write. I knew it was just going to be some stupid spooky shit, anyway. When I returned to the dining room the Hoffs were standing next to the table. A dog-eared book rested between them. “I dont know if its right but it was the first thing we could think of, ” Ms. Hoff explained, holding up the book. “It was Johns favorite when he was younger. He made us read it to him over and over, even high-lighted his favorite passages. ” Her husband smiled, mind somewhere in a memory. “John even started reading the story to Alice last year. He was so excited to share it with it, even letting her highlight her own favorite parts. John was so proud ” Mr. Hoff couldnt choke out the last words, didnt need to. His wife took his hand again. Two trees growing together. “Its okay, ” I said. “I think this is good, I think its our flare. Does it feel right to you? ” Both of them nodded. “Im going to grab some things from my car, ” I said. “Then we can get started. ”. “Is all of this necessary? ” Mr. Hoff asked, looking at the contents of the duffel bag Id dropped on the table. I went through the items one-by-one, starting with the padded nylon restraints. “The bonds are uncomfortable but theyre needed to keep John from hurting himself. Well, the thing in John but theyre cushioned and shouldnt cause much damage. The glow sticks, ” I said, holding up the new box, “are because the lights can get squirrely during extraction. Same for the battery-powered lanterns and the road flares. Just as a backup. ” I tapped the red tube lightly on the table. “The mouth guard is for John. Same reason as the restraints. Hoff picked up one of the pairs of noise-canceling headphones. “Are these for John? ” “Those are for us, ” I said. “Its going to get loud and well need to concentrate. ” John was still sitting on his bed when we entered his room. The shadows from the desk lamp drifted back and forth across the walls like the rise and recession of the tide. I set a few lanterns around the room. The light level didnt improve much. Even though the single window in the room had the curtains open, I noticed the sun coming through the glass seemed dim and dirty and gray. Darkness cluttered the room like dust in an abandoned home. There wasnt any struggle when Mr. Hoff tied Johns restraints to the bed. John just stared at me, a little grin stuck on his face. He made my skin crawl more than any of the other jobs Id taken over the past four years. It was something different in John, more present, more here than any of the others. Think happy thoughts, Jens voice, playing again from where I kept it secret and safe in the parapet of my mind. “If you slink away now, go scurry back to whatever shitty little patch of underground you came from, ” I said, addressing the thing in John. “Im going to do you a favor. Ill let you go. Im not saying I wont follow you. But Ill at least give you a head start. ” Johns grin only got wider until it was a smile like a slit throat. Hoff tied the last restraint then pulled the blanket up to Johns shoulders. When I nodded, Ms. Hoff slipped the soft guard into her sons mouth. The three of us had brought chairs from the dining room and we took our seats in a rough semi-circle around Johns bed. Hoff was closest, his hand steady on his sons shoulder. Hoff opened the book. “Should I start from the beginning or anywhere in particular? ” “Anywhere, ” I said. “Read the highlighted passages, if you like. Its not so much the words that matter as the memory, the feeling. When youre reading, remember how it made you feel to share stories with him, to tuck him in at night. Think about the love you have for him, your hope that he leads a fine, happy life. Catch that hope and keep it close, no matter what you see. Hoff nodded and turned through the pages. Hoff had tears in his eyes when he looked down John, but Hoffs hands were steady, his face clear. I saw Ms. Hoff find a page midway through The Little Prince. She started in a shaky voice. “‘To you I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes, ” Ms. Hoff read. “But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world. ” John began to twist under the sheets, stretching against the restraints. I focused on my breathing, trying to calm my sledgehammer heartbeat. “Keep reading, ” I said, slipping on my headphones. The noise drained from the world and in the silence, I found a memory. “Pick a card, any card, ” Jen instructed, fanning out a deck for my consideration. I chose one at random. “Eight of hearts. ” I turned the card over to see she was right. “How do you always know? ” Jen winked at me, her eyes gypsy blue. “Because Im a witch, like my mother before me, and hers before her. I come from a long line of witches, so remember that if you ever break my heart, Ill turn you into a toad. ” “May lightning strike me should I ever cause a moment of harm to your heart, ” I said, kissing her. “Can you teach me your spooky tricks? ” “Maybe a few, ” she told me, shuffling the cards. “Everyone has a little witch in them. Make yourself calm, open your mind. It requires clarity and intent and you kind of have to bullshit your way through it at first. But youll get it. ” Jen handed me the cards. I smiled and fanned them out for her. “Okay, ” I said, “now pick a card, any card. ” John was screaming. I couldnt hear it through the headphones but it was obvious from the way he shook and contorted, his mouth and eyes both wide. The Hoffs werent wearing their headphones but Ms. Hoff kept reading and Mr. Hoff kept holding his son. It took me a moment to understand why they werent trying to block out his screaming. They wanted to hear it, maybe needed to hear it, to share in the pain with him, to let whatever part of their son that could see them know they would hurt with him for as long as it took. I felt a swell of respect for the family. It helped me focus. I closed my eyes and tried to empty everything from my mind, to leave myself open. Theres so much commotion in the world, so much noise in our own minds. If you can push that out and really listen, sometimes you can pick up on the strangest, faintest signals. Exhaling, I reached out with my thoughts and tried to find Johns signal. A sharp bolt of pain made me wince. It felt like Id brushed against an electric fence. I pushed through it. Gotcha, a voice not my own whispered into my thoughts. The pain exploded across every inch of my nerves, a cacophony of invisible violence. It was ripping and biting, crushing and burning. Something was in my mind with me and it was all anger and razors. I screamed. My eyes shot open but my vision was blurring, darkening, and then it was just black. When I woke up I was sprawled on the Hoffs' couch back in their living room. Hoff was pressing a white towel to my face. She saw my eyes opened and stepped back. I saw the towel was stained red. My panic must have been obvious across my face. “Just a nosebleed, ” Mr. “A big one but everything is still where its supposed to be. ” I sighed and sat up. “Sorry. Didnt mean to go out on you like that. Wheres John? ” “Still in his room, still restrained, ” Ms. “Youve only been out a couple minutes. What happened? ” The blood started dripping again from my nose. She handed me the towel. “The job, the uh, thing in John, ” I said, pulling the towel away. “Its stronger than I expected. Meaner. ” I leaned my head back and sank further into the couch cushions. “We can pick back up, it was working, I a second. ” “Of course, ” Mr. Hoff nodded. “Do you need anything? Want a drink? ” I hesitated. “No. No, Im alright. Thanks. ” We all sat while I quietly finished bleeding. Hoff cleared her throat. “Can I did you get involved in, well, what you do? ” I regretted not getting that drink. “I sort of fell into it. My fiance, her whole family toed the line between natural and, uh, less natural. A whole clan of psychics and Tarot readers and fortune-tellers. I picked up a little bit from her. Im pretty good at card tricks. ” “This all seems more serious than card tricks, ” Mr. “Yeah, that was never my intention. A few years ago Jen got really sick. It was sudden and it was, ” I took a deep breath to steady myself. “It was the type of sick you dont bounce back from. We tried, I tried, everything. Five months after the doctor gave us the news she was already dying. I took her home to say goodbye. But I didnt. Couldnt. I went digging into her familys history, old books, lost things, things deliberately forgotten. And as she slipped away I did everything I could do to keep her. There were words in her family books, shapes from dead languages. I carved them into our walls and floor and ceiling. Then there was a corpse candle that smelled like rot while it burned. It would never go out, not on its own. All of that was to keep Death away. ” “Did it work? ” Ms. I nodded, fighting down a scream or sob, Im not sure which. “It worked. It worked perfectly. Death couldnt find Jen, couldnt take her. But something else could. She tried to warn me but she was so far gone I thought she was delirious. I didnt believe her, didnt want to believe. Because then Id have to let her go. That would have been better, though, because whatever was keeping Death away attracted other things. One of them got into her. I tried, I tried to pull it out but I was fast enough or good enough. The thing broke her into pieces in front of me and then she was gone. The love of my life burned away in front of me and still couldnt die. She suffered until I put the candle out and pulled her, shattered and screaming away from the house. "Thats when she got to die. But I know-” My voice cracked and it took me a second to continue. “I know that it has her. The hooks were in too deep and something taunted me, a vicious little voice in my mind, told me what it would do to her while I sat on the lawn and her body cooled next to me. ” “Jesus Christ, ” Mr. He and his wife were sitting together on the chaise across from me. They were holding hands again, knuckles white and tense. I knew they must be imagining how each would feel if something like that happened to the other. I wiped at my eyes. “So you see, its my fault. I couldnt let her go and she suffered for it, still suffers for it. Ive been looking for the thing that got into her for the last four years. Maybe theres a way for me to reach her. At the very least, I want to tear the thing that hurt her into tiny, useless little pieces that cant harm anyone ever again. I havent found it yet but Ive been on a lot of jobs in four years, gotten a lot of practice. And I promise you, what happened to Jen will not happen to your son. Not on my life, even if I have to-” I was interrupted by the of every light bulb in the house bursting at the same moment. Darkness hit like a car crash. Fear rooted me to the couch. Whatever was in John it was so much stronger than anything Id dealt with before. But the Hoffs didnt hesitate. They were moving immediately, sprinting into the dark towards their son and towards what was in there with their son. Hands shaking, I stood up, trying to will myself forward. Before I could move there was a loud breaking sound. Johns door, I thought. I heard the Hoffs both yell out and then saw a shadow in the darkness, hunched and moving fast. It didnt slow down as it jumped through the closed window. “John! ” Ms. Hoff screamed, running back into the living room, her husband only a step behind. They threw open the front door. It was only late afternoon but the day had grown overcast and gloomy. I followed the Hoffs outside. We didnt have to go far. Something had wrenched the metal door to the crawlspace on the side of the house wide open. “Shit, ” I said. Hoff clenched her fist and walked up to the space. “Okay, Im going in for him. You two stay here, grab a light and-” “No, ” Mr. Hoff told his wife. “ Were going in for him together. ” “Well, youre both wrong, ” I said. “But I appreciate your enthusiasm. Whatever has John is panicking, its liable to hurt him if you corner it. ” That was all true but the main reason I wanted to Hoffs to stay away was the risk of the thing in John killing one or both of them and pushing their son off a cliff of grief and guilt. The job was too strong and there was no place Id rather not be than trapped in a tiny space with it. But Id made a promise. I told the Hoffs to watch the opening while I ran inside for one of the lanterns. “Its possible this is a distraction and hes not under there, ” I said when I came back. “But if he is and he slips past me…” “He wont slip by us, ” Ms. Hoff promised. “I know, ” I said, crawling into the dark. The beam from the lantern was weak and outlined the motes of dust I disturbed as I inched forward. There was only room for me to move on my hands and knees. I swept the light around the crawl space but it was cluttered with pillars and drooping insulation, limiting visibility. I thought I saw movement in the corner and jerked backward, hitting my head. My breathing was fast and ragged. I was never good with tight spaces, especially those occupied by demonic murder children. Puddles of shadow lay over everything. I kept moving, lantern beam bouncing madly at every imagined sound or silhouette. Id nearly convinced myself John wasnt under the house when I felt a thin, strong arm wrap around my throat. Cool breath on my neck. “There you are, ” the thing in John whispered into my ear. An inhuman grip stole the air from me. Much worse was the sense of something invading my mind, tendrils of foreign, violent thoughts intruding. A chill spread through my nerves, my bones. I was shaking, freezing and it hurt worse than anything Id ever felt before. Numbness followed in the wake of the cold. I was desperate for it, for any relief from the pain. "I could break him, you know, ” it told me. “Snap his arms like straw, take his eyes, go digging through his stomach. Do you think his parents would still want John back if you could only bring them pieces? ” I whimpered. The tendrils of alien thought pushed deeper into my mind, a puppeteer sewing in strings. “I know who you are, you know, ” Not John told me. “Weve talked about you. You sent a few of my friends away, away. That wasnt very nice. All of that effort and you still couldnt do anything for your little girlfriend, huh? Thats a shame, shame, shameful tragedy, isnt it? Shes with us, weve got her. I think she blames you. That must be rough. ” “Stop, ” I whispered, trying to loosen the arm choking me. “I dont think Im going to stop, ” Not John said. “What I think Im going to do is break Johnny Boy into bits and then take you for a spin. How does that sound? You shouldn't have come in here, you know that, dont ya? Keep telling people that you can believe in something, anything, and it no, maybe so. But you dont believe in anything at all, do you, Eric? ” The numbness had finally caught up and passed the pain. I felt myself sinking into an inky pool. Pick a card. Jens voice, the only sound in the dark, like a bell in the night. Bright fragments came burning through the numbness. They hurt but they brought me back, like a sleeping limb waking up to pins and needles. Any card. There were images with the sounds. The Hoffs, hand-in-hand at the table, two trees growing together. I saw both of them moving without hesitation, running into the dark when they thought their son was in trouble, danger be damned, fear be damned. Her eyes, gypsy blue. I thought of Johns mom and dad ready to climb together into a hole, to crawl under their house to face whatever had their son. I pictured John himself that day at the beach, how he must have put everything he had into trying to reach his sister even while he was drowning. All of them trees against the wind. The numbness was gone. I felt the thing coiled in my mind, solid and clear. It felt me. And it was afraid. The Not John began to pull back, to uncoil and slither away. It wanted out, to go back fully to John. I slammed the door of my mind on the presence, catching it like a tail in a rat trap. “Gotcha, ” I said through gritted teeth. The thing thrashed and kicked and bucked. It tried to slip away and it was like grabbing smoke but I held on. I turned my focus into a grip and I held on. “John, can you hear me? ” I asked, straining with the effort of keeping the thing pinned down. “I need you to listen. ” “My fault, ” John whispered, sounding human and alive for the first time. “It was my fault. ” “Bullshit. It wasnt your fault. Your parents dont blame you, your sister wouldnt blame you. And if you are damn determined to blame yourself, even then, dont you dare let it make you numb. Guilt is a poisoned well, John. When youre feeling broken and thirsty, I know that water looks pretty, cold and endless. You want to drink until the empty in you is full, even if youre filling it with poison. "Its easy, its comfortable. I understand, believe me, I do. But we dont get to walk the comfortable road, John, we dont get to give up and be numb. Your parents need you, they cant take you leaving. And your sister would not want you to go. Even if you cant understand that yet, even if you want to wear that blame, then you come back here and you spend every single day living like youre living for her. ” John moaned, sobbing, nearly wailing. He was in agony and it broke my heart to see it. But it meant he wasnt numb anymore. The presence twisted and bit, trying to fight its way out of my trap. I began to pull, tearing it out by the roots. Every time I plucked a hook free John closed himself out to it a little more. The final strand came loose with an inaudible snap. I held the jagged, formless nothing in my mind. I squeezed. “Wherever youre going, you tell them Im coming, that Im going to get her back. Tell them, even if I have to wade through every God-forsaken acre of Hell, I am coming for her. And youll all fucking regret it. ” A little more pressure and suddenly it was gone. John and I were left alone in the dust and the dark. He looked at me, pale and raw and bruised but in one piece. I smiled. “Welcome back. ”. I still check in with the Hoffs every couple of weeks. Johns doing well. He named the familys new hamster after me which dly flattering. Im on the road a lot, always looking for new jobs, for a way to keep my promise. For a way to find Jen. So you let me know if you ever have a job that needs doing. Ive been getting a lot of practice.

The Climb Watch full article on top. Right now we are in month two of the disappearance of a person's dog. The dog, per them, is NOT chipped or wearing a collar due to a past neck injury. The collar I can understand, by why no chip! They has plastered the neighborhood with signs and have a veritable army of people actively searching for the dog or praying for it's safe return. I've had people side-eyeing my dog and they've also tried to claim other dogs as being the missing one. The owner's latest post makes it seem that they truly believe someone is keeping their dog hostage. They claim that the stress of the dog's disappearance has landed them in the hospital and that they will no longer be searching for the dog due to how detrimental it has been to their health. They have left "instructions" a bio for the "new owner" I have had him since he was 4 mths old. He was a gift from God. He is 10yrs old now. Most people say he still looks like a puppy. He is prone to ear infections so watch his ears they get bright pink and he shakes his head alot when it starts. He was not like that until I took him to a vet to get him groomed and it started after that. A few years ago he was playing when he jumped off the couch and hurt his neck. When it happened the pain was so bad that he could not push the doggy door. The vet said he could no longer ware a collar or go for long walks. My sister got him a stroller (which he loved) and if we were going to be out side for any length of time I would put a harness on him. This is the reason he was not chipped or had a collar on when he got out. There are times even now that it gets inflamed and I have to kennel him to keep him calm. He loves to go for rides. His favorite time of the day was the morning before work when I would take him to Starbucks for his puppochino. When he rides in a car he likes to ride on your shoulders. If you can manage it that would be his favorite place to ride in a car. He loves his puppochinos, the barista's know that he gets that before anything else, no money exchanges hands or any other drinks go out until he has his. 4. He prefers table food to dog food (even wet dog food) He will stage a hunger strike to get it. His favorite place to sleep is under the covers with you, between your knees. 6. He likes to chew on and tear up microfiber blankets. Speaking of shredding things, if you give him a couple of squares of toilet paper he will shred that too and leave it for you to clean up. He is not a Chihuahua, he is a basenji mix and has more Characteristics of a Basenji than whatever else he is. He does not bark like a normal dog, his major form of communication is growling so he seems aggressive but he is not. The curly tail is a basenji trait also. You will probably notice he doesn't bark a whole lot. It is a barkless breed. 9 He will get into the trash if he can reach to get the people food he wants 10. I have been taking him to doggy parks since he was a puppy but he is not crazy about other people or dogs. It took him a long time to learn to play. Even then he stuck very close to me. 11. He likes to sing and if you howl you can get him going. I am mourning him even now and I am praying to God that if you have him. You take good care of him. Keep him inside where he is safe and warm and can climb up between your knees and watch TV with you, Get him a stroller and Harness rather than a collar so he does not hurt and a kennel for when he does. Get him a stroller so you can take him on long walks because loves to do that. Take him to a secluded area of a park and take him off the leash so he can run and explore. I promise he will not go far from you. I pray to God that you love him like I do. The comment section was chalk full of people offering their condolences and trying to find "the dognapper. They also believe that The Homeless and/or various other nefarious groups currently have the dog.
